Gentle Chair Yoga (Drop-In Open to Public)*

Pender Island Community Hall: 55+ Maintain Your Independence program

4418 Bedwell Harbour Road, Pender Island 

Drop-in $7 per class. 

This practice involves gentle stretches and strength-building supported by a chair, coordinated with breath awareness, guided meditation, and a friendly welcoming atmosphere for adults ages 55+. There is no need to get up or down from the floor, and any standing postures are supported by the chair with the option to practice from remaining seated. 

Chairs, yoga blocks and straps are provided. If you find that your feet do not easily reach the floor from seated, you may wish to bring a couple chip foam blocks or a thick mat to help the floor reach your feet (contact for more info if needed).

*Please note that I am substitute teaching this class for November and December. It is planned to continue as an ongoing weekly drop-in with the regular teacher Joy come January 2023. 

Gentle Strength

Mondays 9:00 - 10:05 AM (except holidays)

Ajna Yoga 

#209 - 2250 Oak Bay Avenue (behind Oaks Restaurant at corner of Monterey) 

A mindful practice to gently build strength and stability, focusing on core muscle groups in coordination with the breath. This is a mixed-level class with multiple variations and step-by-step options.


Accessible for beginners, ages 50+ and those with injuries who are able to get up and down from the floor, people living in abundant bodies, and those who enjoy a slower more grounding pace - everyone welcome!
