Covid-19 Safety Plan

This plan is regularly updated to comply with all orders and recommendations by the Provincial Health Officer (PHO) of BC.

Here is what Butterfly Tree Yoga is doing to support the health and safety of clients, staff, and the general public:

  • Masks are recommended but not required while moving through common spaces. Once settled at your designated mat/chair, you may choose to use or remove your mask.

    • In certain spaces (such as those with people who are more clinically vulnerable) the rules may be different. These will be communicated in advance. For example, all yoga classes in health care settings still require use of masks.

    • In one-on-one sessions, mask use will be discussed between yoga therapist and client with the aim of reaching an agreement that feels safe and comfortable for both parties.

  • Although facilities are presently permitted to operate at full capacity, we will continue to space each participant well apart.

  • Yoga props are sanitized and/or quarantined between being used by different people.

  • Hand sanitizer is provided.

  • Surfaces are cleaned and disinfected between each group / use of the space.

    • The protocols vary slightly depending on the host facility and nature of the class. Examples include all chairs being disinfected immediately after a chair yoga class, and the floor being mopped with disinfectant immediately after a mat-based class.

    • Spaces are well ventilated with additional airing out between groups.

    • Use of the space is scheduled to allow ample time for cleaning, disinfecting, and airing out between groups.

  • Each host facility we use has its own signage up communicating their policies and procedures in regard to Covid-19. All participants and staff members are expected to follow these policies and procedures.

  • Anyone displaying symptoms associated with Covid-19 or who is required to self-isolate is asked to stay home in compliance with public health orders.

    • If I need to self-isolate, I will either schedule a substitute teacher/therapist or cancel classes until I am cleared by public health orders to return to work.

Thank you for your patience and teamwork in supporting our collective health and safety through these challenging times!
